After careful consideration from the replies on this thread I decided to return the Amazon memory saver and raw dog the battery swap.
Reading the instructions on the memory saver I felt like the chance of popping the obd fuse, or worse, was a greater risk.
No negative effects. I didn’t even lose radio presets. My compass wasn’t calibrated (took 5 mins to fix itself) and my serv 4x4 light came on for about 2 seconds.
Updated the original post to show the tips I learned.
Battery tray holds water: confirmed. I chose to dry it out and do nothing. That’s all the water I have after four years and it’s a plastic battery tray. Opted not to drill holes, I’d rather the plastic tray catch any possible corrosion from the battery

Old battery
New battery

I reinstalled the battery blanket on the new battery. It’s easier to install on the battery before lowering the battery into the tray. I had to cut the blanket because the new battery handles were a different orientation but the blanket holder tab thing holds it down and you can’t tell I cut it.
