Hello everyone. I just purchased a banks monster ram for my 2018 Cummins. I hear it’s pointless to install it other than some eye candy under the hood. But is there really any negative effects after getting one put in? I have no other mods in the truck as this will be my first one. And does anyone on here have any long term reviews on it? Thank you all for your help!

Negatives I'd say minimal to none unless you're somewhere cold enough that the plug heater isn't enough for cold starts, but then you should be using the block heater anyways. I've had mine on since the truck had ~5k miles, but I did it mainly to ditch the grid heater (while rare, a few mechanics I know had started to see a small uptick in the number of 6.7s eating the heater bolt). Stock it didn't really do much other than give it just a tad better throttle response and reduce boost 1-2 psi under higher airflow demands from being lower restriction, but I'd bet you'd see the same results from just deleting the grid heater alone. IMO you won't really see a difference unless you're tuned, have a turbo swap, compounds, etc, but you also won't hurt anything.

Nothing negative, nothing really gained. the heater is moved to the top of the unit and never had issues with it starting. but maryland hasnt been cold enough to really need it
