Ok... will plain admit up front... should have done more research before pulling the trigger on this one, but it's on the truck, and already with the injector line "leak" problem. Waiting to hear from Banks, about a replacement line... but... will buying the line from Shield Deisel be a better solution?? The Banks line is steel, the one from Shield is Stainless Steel. I wasn't thrilled with the clearance between the line and the air horn on install... so I can't say I'm surprised it failed. So... what have others found?? Right now, I'm going to put the stock horn back on, with the original line, got to have the truck running.

Went back to original horn, after spending a good bit of time cleaning crap out of it. Pulled the Banks off, swapped the fuel line back to original. Put it all back together, and no more leaking fuel.

Latest update... heard from Banks, they are shipping a replacement line. BUT... not holding breath on that one, and have sourced an alternative from Scheid Diesel out of Indiana. They actually called me, to verify information, and asking about the order, as they are seeing a large interest in their replacement line. There's is stainless steel construction. Since I have both coming, the Banks horn will not go back on the truck until I can lay the lines side-by-side, and verify a better fit.

Just leave it stock and toss the useless Banks stuff in the trash.

That banks air horn causes more problems than it cures for some.

For a truck running street levels of power, the “increased flow” is worthless, and the grid heater bolt is over blown.

Check the nut whenever you think about it, and run the stocker for a happy life.

Seconded.... Not saying all banks stuff is bad, I have a few of their parts on mine (listed below/why) but go back, look at their site and find where they show any actual really world gains on a truck.... I'll wait. Then go search for third party vids that compare dyno results stock vs their horn... You will quickly find that it does basically nothing for performance overall. Some say better throttle response but that's so very subjective I personally think it's more placebo than anything.

Banks rear dig cover - ease of servicing - none of the other marketing wank
MAP sensor relocation - lessens soot build on sensor - seems to work but still need to clean periodically

If you have an opportunity to return the Banks, and you're just interested in a fix for the extremely rare grid heater bolt failure, you might want to look at the BD Diesel grid heater bolt kit.

The Banks isn't going to gain anything unless you also do boost tubes and a tune over 500HP. The heads only flow ~200CFM.
