Hi everyone, thanks for the excellent content on this site, I have been a viewer for the past couple of months and joined yesterday. I had a dodge Big Horn in 2005-2007 timeframe. Then Purchased an F150 and have leased 2 F150s as well. I liked my dodge - felt like I got a better deal on the ford at the time which is why I went in that direction. I have decided to buy a Heavy Duty - will be my first. I honestly don’t really need the extra capability but I want it. I have a boat that weighs about 5k and a 23ft enclosed trailer that I haul ATVs and dirt bikes. I occasionally have a friend who joins with his ATV, the extra payload would allow for me to add an ATV to the back of the truck. I was ready to pull the trigger on a Ford Tremor Diesel- but my friends convinced me to take a look at a Ram Diesel. So I am planning to go all out and get a limited 3500 SW with the HO and mega cab. The limited goes a bit against my prior perspective that I don’t want a fancy truck...but I am going to keep it for a long time so...why not. My frustration right now is the buying process - waiting on Ram to release the 2021 HO in the configuration tool and dealing with sales people who are not knowledgeable and focus on trying to get me to the dealership in person vs sharing info over the phone.

Patience will be rewarded! Good truck choice man.

I also considered the Limited and went back and forth between it and the Longhorn, like about 40 times. Settled for the LH finally, which btw will be renamed Limited Longhorn for 2021. Both great choices anyway.

And dealerships are the worse for sure, all of them.

Welcome to the group. Glad you have some good friends to straighten you out on the best brand :) . Anytime we convert a ferd driver, it's a beautiful day. Very nice choice on vehicle pic. I also was in a transitional period on the build site between 19 and 20 and nobody knew what was going on and it seemed like i was telling them what's available. I personally went back and forth between the limited and Laramie for months. They are basically the same except for some badging, head lights and interior leather, i call mine a Laramie limited haha. I decided on the Laramie because it was 6000 cheaper, did not want the extra soft leather as we have dogs and i slide in and out, and everything that i read on the head lights was most people preferred the wider ones on the Laramie vs the fancy ones that turn when you turn on the limited. Well come to find out when I got it, i much like the wide head lights and when you turn the wheel your side driving light illuminates to give you a wide view of your turn, so I loved that. You will love the hohd, very capable and fun to drive. Take your time and work several dealerships to get the best deal once the build site updates and you know exactly what you want. Get exactly what you want for the price your comfortable with. You have the upper hand. Do as much online with out going into dealership as you can, you'll get a better deal that way .

I think most everyone struggles deciding on a trim level.

The Laramie wasn't generally in the mix once I saw/felt the difference in the Leather, lights, etc. and the suede was off putting to me. If I'm paying for leather, I wanted the best.

I strongly considered a fully optioned bighorn with cloth seats, but in the end came to the same decision that my "forever" truck was going to have all that fancy stuff, air cooled backside, and that sweet sweet high quality leather.

LOVE the lights and everything else about the truck. The only thing I have doubts about was getting the factory air ride. However, the ride is great for a 1T truck.

The black interior is a chore to keep clean, were I in the country I'd have gotten the Longhorn, It's beautiful, but I just couldn't get into the black/brown color combo.
