B&W Tow & Stow question 7" vs 9"

I have a 2021 Ram 3500 4x4 DRW with the factory air suspension on order and should be picking it up in a few weeks. I need to order a hitch for it before I receive it though. Which hitch would be more appropriate, the 7" drop or 9" drop? My understanding is the DRW tends to be a little lower than the SRW and the air suspension drops it even more. I have a few small trailers with small tires that don't put much weight on the hitch and I want them to be reasonably level. My lowest trailer would have the ball socket top roughly 17" from the ground. Any ideas?

BTW disregard my handle, I'm done with Ford for a while.

I ran 7" on a landscaping trailer that I deem pretty low. Factory air setup in "alt mode" and the 7 in lowest setting is too much. I run 1 or even 2 settings above lowest.

Not quite apples to apples but maybe this help

FWIW, I have a 2020 2500 4x4 SRW with the air suspension and I use a 3" drop B&W tri-ball Tow & Stow with my dovetail car trailer and it's just right. I guess it mostly depends on the trailers you will be using.

I need 7” drop to pull my car hauler level. My hitch does 6 or 8 so I pull it at the 6” setting.

I vote for 7" because 9" might drag on the ground. I had a 18 3500 CC SRW 4X4 non air suspension and my 9" barely kissed the ground a couple times with the trailer hooked up. Trailer hitch height was 20" and I was a couple holes from the bottom on the adjustment on the Hitch.

I'm running a 2.5" rear lift and the 7" drop is perfect for my car hauler. I'd think a 9" drop would be too much for a stock dually.20210126_083542.jpg

Hooked up my trailer today and snapped a pic for you before I loaded the crawler . My truck is stock suspension but I do have 35”s

this drop hitch is set to 6” drop and you see it’s still not level. The truck squats about an inch with the tongue weight and then it’s pretty close. The 8” drop setting is a hair low and the bottom ball scrapes on my driveway so I run it with the 6” setting.

sits pretty level when loaded and the truck squats about an inch
