I can only assume the positives to a bed aux tank, maybe a 50 gallon or so, but, are there many negatives to one? Does diesel fuel "sour", get water in the aux tank or anything......could you give me some pros/cons?
Pulling a 5th wheel, I can definitely see advantages.
Thanks

FYI , I just saw a you tube video by "Precision Hauling" he has one , gravity fed. Nice looking tank.

If you do one definitely get a gravity fed tank rated for diesel fuel.

I have one and I'm really happy with it. I have a skid steer I refuel from it and when I need the extra fuel for the truck I just open the valve and it gravity feeds my truck's tank.

I went with a narrow 45 gallon RDS and it was more challenging than most to mount because its footprint is so narrow. There are support railings under the bed that blocked access to any holes I would've drilled into the bed to secure it. I went with the narrow tank since I was also adding a toolbox and I didn't want to lose too much of my bed. There are tank/toolbox combos, but they're pretty pricey when you compare it to buying them separately.

And diesel doesn't degrade like gasoline. The only concern is extended cold temperatures where diesel can gel up.
