Hey all. I just installed the factory mopar auxiliary switches and auxiliary pdc in my 2020 wagon. Everything is wired up, pretty simple, but I’ve heard I need to have the vcm flashed so it will recognize them? So either a dealership has to do it or buy the alpha obd…

Any suggestions? Has anyone had these installed?

TIA

Its the BCM and being a PW, as jscan or alfa is what you need.

Dealer isn't going to be able to do it. They can only add Sales codes that are allowed for post-factory adds they sell like XFQ camera wiring or trailer brake module.

While there is/was a kit for AUX (availability questionable), it wasn't ever an option for PW.

You'll need AlfaOBD or JScan. Recommend JScan as it tends to be simpler and can also be used to program key FOB.

Downside is JScan is VIN licensed/locked.

Thank you sir

My bad. We used to call the vehicles computers a vehicle control module back then. Thanks

There's SO many different modules now and nomenclature can even vary some between gas and diesel/diesel (trans options) models.

The Body Control Module (BCM) controls many of the generic functions.
The Power Control Module (PCM) tends to be engine and trans combined, but in the AISIN (and I believe ZF) trucks, the ECM and TCM are separate.
Then there's the TPMS, trailer brake, RF hub, radio, ABS, airbag, climate, seats, doors, etc. - standalone (networked) modules for everything.

Totally get it. I probably should have looked it up before posting. I’ll be more specific next time. These new vehicle are just full of modules. Ha

Anyways, thanks again sir
