I currently have a gravity-fed 33 gallon auxiliary fuel tank in the truck bed. I want to add a 12v low-pressure fuel pump w/ filter and an open/close 12v solenoid valve. I have the following questions. Thanks in advance for any responses.

- Can both of these 12v devices be wired to a single aftermarket 12v switch?
- Would the low-pressure fuel pump allow fuel to trickle by when off? I'm guessing if not, this would eliminate the need for a solenoid valve, right?

You might need a relay to power the solenoid valve depending on the amp draw, but a single switch is an option.

I had a Precision electric pump and filter system on my 2011 pulling from a 62 gallon auxiliary tank. I pulled fuel from a drop tube installed in the top of the tank. I didn’t use a solenoid valve and never had an issue with fuel leaking by the pump, but it could be an issue if you’re pulling from the bottom of the tank.
