Hello. My 2021 2500 Limited CTD 4x4 CC, 21K miles was selected by Automotive Testing Development Services (ATDS) and Cummins to perform emission testing in Columbus, OH. My truck will be picked up/delivered back to my house in Michigan on a flatbed and be gone for 2-3 weeks. I do receive a free loaner 2500 so I can still tow my boats, full tank of diesel upon return and $500 check for participating. Does anyone have any experience with this program they would like to share?

Why do they need your truck - I mean they cant buy one to test?

Tell them because of the current financial crap show we are in you want $2k for your truck and time... $500 seems cheap. They do this all the time in Kalifornia, they want to pull a "real world" sample and test to see how the emission system is holding up. They are a third party tester probably contracted by the EPA to do the testing?

They are seeking Customers owned trucks based on options, miles, driving habits and build date. My limited was one of the 1st to roll off MY21 line with the new fuel pump so I would think that is one of the big reasons. The program is purely voluntary. My brother has been received the same letter for his 2015 EcoDiesel, but has yet to be selected.

I participated in a similar program for VW about 5 years ago. I negotiated the rate up to $4000, from the original offer of $2500.

They ended up keeping the car longer than planned and when it returned, the exhaust tips were blued from what appeared to be severe exhaust overheating from extended back to back to back dyno runs.

Only God knows the abuse that poor car took in their hands.

Even after the $4k, I would not elect to give up my vehicle again for something like this.

I would not do it, they are going to place your truck on a loaded dyno and they will make the Cummins work hard for hours upon hours with little to no air flow..... shes gonna get toasty! Lets hope they at least have a fan in front of trans cooler and radiator.
