Just curious if anyone has done the procharger on their 6.4 Hemi yet, or any related thoughts, concerns or input?

MY wife has a Durango SRT and this question comes up a lot in the Durango forums about trying to get hellcat power out of a 6.4 with either a procharger or a whipple. One guy actually did it and was running 8lbs on a whipple. Ended up having to rebuild the engine with about 15k mi on it with upgraded internals. That is inline with most of what Ive heard with the 6.4's is they dont really like forced induction unless rebuilt with beefier internals. I have no personal experience with it though.

failure at 8lbs of boost, i'd be looking at the tune, or driver mod.
Agreed...or just the driver pounding on it. The wife and I have been contempating it for her SRT and Ive pretty much come to the conclusion that if we are going to supercharge hers, Im dropping in a used Hellcat engine, it just makes more sense to me. A used Hellcat Engine/Trans with ECU is about $15-16K and Dodge already confirmed (and did) the swap with with their Durango Pursuit (Nicknamed Spped Trap) with a redeye engine. Compared to the $8K for a whipple, plus tune, and not including any other mods, It makes more sense to get something from Mopar that is specifically made to do such things.

As far as the HD 6.4, I guess it comes down to what the goals are. My bone stock 19 3500 6.4 has had no problems dragging around about 15K lbs of trailer/skidsteer/attachments.
