The 2024 3500’s came standard with a rear “anti-spin” differential.

I assumed my 2026 would have as well, and when I swapped out the firestones I noticed there was no resistance spinning a rear tire, so thought it may be a worm gear style LSD.

My window sticker does not show it, nor is it orderable on the ramtruck build & price. A 2024 3500 window sticker I was able to find shows it in standard equipment.

Does anyone know for sure what the deal is?

Thanks

Jack rear tires at the diff, put truck in neutral, rotate one tire, you'll see the other rotate in same direction.... Thus you have LSD.

Thank you for posting the link to the build specs. I thought my '24 3500 didn't have a LSD when in fact it does! The build sheet confirmed it. Thank you again!

To follow up on this, my 2026 3500 SRW bighorn 4wd does not have the anti-spin on the window sticker, the two rear tires spin in opposite directions when jacked up, and having driven a bit in light mud and snow, does not have a LSD of any effectiveness. The dealer simply told me that if it is not on the window sticker, the truck is not equipped.

If still in doubt you need to look up your build sheet on line to see if it has anti spin or not...

Their statement is true of a 1500 and a 2500
But it is false when applied to a 3500
It’s standard on every 3500 produced therefore it won’t show up on the window sticker. 1500’s and 2500’s it will show up because it is an optional add-on with a cost associated with it.

If you want to see for yourself, you need to look at your factory equipment listing. Go to this site:

Ram Factory Equipment Listing

Type in your full VIN using capital letters
Then look at your equipment listing.
The differential will show up as “Anti Spin Differential Rear Axle”

Here is the BEST way to know:
Purposely hook your truck to a large tree--IF both rear tires spin--you do have LSD. IF only one tire spins--you do NOT have LSD.
(you do not want an "open differential" (i.e peg leg)--you can make it by locking into 4WD to compensate, but LSD is a LOT better)

Thanks for that link. It indeed shows the anti-spin, though I’m not sure what felt more disappointing, thinking Ram didn’t put it in my truck or now knowing they did and how ineffective it is.

In some very low traction situations, a little tap on the brake pedal or one click on the parking brake can help the LSD engage quicker.
