Hello all, sorry I know there are a number of scattered threads on the site about this but I can’t seem to confirm a few things. Maybe this can become the specific thread for all the info.
I have a 2022 Tradesman. Originally I was just looking to change my rear seat to the split bench. I found one and went to look at it yesterday and the guy has buying wrecked Ram trucks and rebuilding them for 12 years. He happened to have the front and rear seats from a wrecked 22 Big horn. The driver seat is power and heated and the passenger seat is heated. While I was there we actually un bolted my driver seat, sat the Big Horn seat in and plugged it in and the power seat worked.
So from what I have researched I should be able to install these seats, stop by the dealer and have them activate them and I can control them in uconnect. I have the 8.4 non nav unit. Is that correct? If I were to buy the physical buttons and install them would I still have to have the dealer activate them in the system?
He also has a heated steering wheel to sell me. From the research I’ve done I would need the clock spring as well to make that work correct?
Lastly, can the auto climate be added to the 8.4 non nav unit? I see infotainment has a kit to add this to a 8.4 UAV which is just a wire harness and some sensors. If I can do this I could convert my tradesman to have heated seats, wheel, and auto climate for a fairly inexpensive price.
If I installed all this stuff, would I just need to have the dealer activate all of these things in the system and it would all work? Thank you for any help you can provide.
