Hi HD Friends 20260206_144611.jpg7403.jpg

Just finished up round 1 of upgrades and I am stoked. Was staring at the parts in my garage for 5 months and finally got to it. Very pleased with things and know where I am attacking next based on how it drives. Ride def improved, but the factory front sway bar on these trucks are a one trick pony. Def for heavy load's and towing etc. The bind from the front sway bar is more evident to me as I can feel the new springs and shocks trying to do their jobs and then the abrupt limiting of the fluidity (if that applies to HD trucks lol) in the suspension cycle created by said sway bar. So....looking to do a Thuren or Carli sway bar next.

This all being said, I chose the Bilstein B8 5162 2" level with the 5160 reservoir shocks front and rear for the level. To compliment this ad center the axle I chose a Carli front track bar (stout as all hell) with the steering damper relocation bracket and a Fox 2.0 damper. While all of this was apart , I also added the bad-axe steering brace. Between the Carli trackbar and the steering brace, I am not sure what stiffened up the front end more (in a good way), but I am not ruling out the digressive valved Bilstein's either. I knew that they would be firmer as I have owned many Bilstein's in prior cars / trucks. I wanted the control at highway speeds and Bilstein does that in spades from my POV. Very composed handling. Romp the brakes @ 75 MPH and its composed. Much better then the stock Ram HD shocks.

Last but not least, I really went for it and had an Eaton Detroit Trutrac installed (kept the 3.73s) and it is NIGHT and DAY difference in the rain or snow. Who the hell builds a $73K+ truck and doesn't install a rear posi in a truck meant to tow? Stellantis! That's who! LOL All jokes aside, the Trutrac diff is spectacular based on how it works, and, with what Eaton claims they can handle power wise, I might add one to my Chevelle if I blow the Eaton clutch posi that in there now.. No additive and just change fluid ? Sign me up!

I have a few pics attached and Its nothing great because I dont have tires and wheels on it yet. I am hoping you guys can help me decide 37s or 35s. I am def set on the wheels at least. Foudation 395 18" wheels with +19 backspace. Just slight poke. Looking to run 12.50 wide either 37 or 35. I wiont be towming more then 9000# so I am not too concerned with 37s. I just think it may look stuffed with 37s. I am an old fart and like the way 37s look on these trucks with the Carli 3.25 / 1 lift. Enough space to warrant the 37s. I didn't like all the low center or gravity stuffing the wheel wells crap on Jeeps what that trend started. Lol.

Anyway- I am done rambling for now and thank you for reading my long winded post!
