AlphaOBD vs Edge Pulsar module - completely dissimilar products?

I don't think this is an either/or situation, but is anyone familiar with both of these products to give a quick, very quick, overview of their capabilities? I realize AlphaOBD is software and mainly about diagnostics, which the Pulsar isn't, but AlphaOBD can also change many functions, which the Pulsar does too.

Some of my questions:
1. Do their capabilities overlap each other at all?
2. Is the Pulsar mainly about engine performance with the ability to turn MDS on/off?
3. Is it reasonable to have both products?

I know there's an entire thread devoted to AlphaOBD, but I couldn't find much info here about the Pulsar other than this link and the fact that the module hasn't been released for 2022 RAMs yet:

different boxes. one is a power adder, supposedly, and alFa is a change control device for xcm setting.

No hands-on experience with the Pulsar, but based on their advertised features it looks like the only thing that may overlap would be the ability to change tire size (though they don't explicitly call out that you can change it, just something about 20"-59", so that could just indicate that they say their product works with all sizes).

AlfaOBD lets you make quite a few other changes as called out in the numerous AlfaOBD threads.

If the Pulsar is something that you feel meets your needs, then it is absolutely reasonable to have both.

I was considering the Pulsar for its ability to turn off MDS; but it's a pretty pricey way to do that. From reading some posts about AlphaOBD here it doesn't seem that its ability to disable MDS is clear.
