Hey all,
Did a little searching and couldn't find anything specific to the tailgate... So a few times now, I've gone to my locked truck and grabbed the tailgate and it appears to sense my fob enough to unlock it, but it will set off the alarm. As Murphy would have it, it always seems to happen when I am in a place that I need to be quiet. Last time was pulling into an RV spot at 0-dark-thirty and having other RV's on both side of me (most likely sleeping).... Anyone else have this issue or have a fix other than unlocking the truck with the fob or front door handle before going to the tailgate?

One more shot at seeing if anyone else has had this issue.

I am commenting, so I will get a notice if there are any ideas. Mine does this sometimes.

Mine doesn't do that... Seems strange it would.
Have you tried opening it with the double click on the key fob? Maybe that won't trigger the alarm... Doesn't fix the issue but something to try.

Does it not let you open when the fob isn't in your pocket? Wonder if the locking isn't working or something and its not sensing FOB either which results in alarm? Just thinking out of left field, I haven't seen this on my '22 or '25 and I do open tailgate with truck locked when we're traveling.

It seems to act as normal 95% of the time. Won't open without the fob and opens fine with the fob, but once in a while (and usually when most inopportune) it opens with the fob, but also sets off the alarm. Just did it again last week and of course in an RV park...

No ideas here, of course it only ever seems to happen at the worst possible time!

We got to a harvest hosts pretty late last trip and I forgot to get the key out of my pocket when I jumped out to check my placement... nothing like some loud horn noises for the neighbors :|

I can open it once when it’s locked.
The second time I open it- could be a few minutes later, it sets of the alarm.
No idea why.
