Aisin rising temps when idling in drive

I have a 2021 DRW 3500 Cummins HO with 58k miles. I do not have any real modifications (Banks Monster, CAI, and boost tubes). The most recent modification is a Calibrated Power tune to include the transmission tune. The following issues was noted both before and after the tune. All maintenance has been done according to the owners manual to include the 30,000 mile transmission fluid change.

I have noticed a trend where, the transmission temperature will rise when I leave the truck in drive and it is idling (Think sitting in a drive thru). It starts within a minute of stopping. I have seen the temperature get as high as 195. The same thing does not happen if I put the truck in park. Driving the truck for about twice as long as it idled, brings it back into the normal operating band (158-176) typically back to 167. I know the temperature is not a number that is extreme, but I do not fully understand the trend and wanted to know if there is anything I should check when I do the filter/fluid change. One other item of note, it is independent of outside air temperature. I have seen it recently with outside air at 25F.

It's just the lack of airflow over the cooling stack plus the small heat generation by the torque converter while in gear and not moving, nothing to worry about

You should see similar in slow stop and go traffic.

TC generates heat and limited airflow temps will rise.

167 running highway with a load is about what I see so I don't think you should have any real concerns.

Otherwise, how are you liking the CP tunes?

Thanks for the input.

I love the CP tunes. For context, I didn't buy the truck to drag race or anything like that, but these tunes are great both daily driving and at 25K lbs. I daily it on their Street Tune (4 of 5). There is a notable seat of the pants difference and I had no problem with temps on Light Tow (3 of 5) at 25k lbs total. I have not had it on a major incline yet, so that may change next time I go through the pass but even on 2 it is a decent difference in power. They also do an Aisin tune with it now. I like it, it is still an Aisin, but they seem to have matched it well with the new power.

Their customer service was very responsive. I hooked the bypass cable up to the wrong block initially and they were quick to answer my call and get me fixed. Unplugging that cable to move it was a pain but that was me not them.

I am overall happy and recommend the tunes for sure.

Thanks, I run about 25-26K myself towing but don't daily the truck. I have zero issues with the way my Aisin shifts but might expect something different if I had tunes.

We shave the clip down on those bypass connectors so they don't catch so hard and are easier to pull as needed. That said, I leave my KAOdTECH bypass (both CAN-C and CAN-IHS) connected all the time unless it goes into the dealer. Even then, I have forgotten to pull it a time or 2 and since my youngest son now works at my RAM dealer, he's usually on my truck for most things anyway so I'm not really concerned about getting it flagged or anything like that. I suppose if I was worried someone might clone the key and steal it from the driveway, I might not leave it connected.

I also like the Aisin, I was just acknowledging that it did not change it. I have talked to a lot of people that are disappointed in it because they expect it to be something it isn't. Shaving the clip a bit is a good idea. This was my first time tuning a Ram so I was not expecting it.
