In reading about airbags on this forum and many others, it seems as if 1/2 love them and 1/2 hate them. So let’s take an unscientific poll and see. Feel free to add any comments as to why.

I have the factory air. I really like it the majority of the time. The two issues I have with them are that you have no way to see the pressures in the bags to guesstimate your weight and if you trip the overload (such as too much tongue weight when loading a tractor on the trailer), the only way to reset it is to drive over 14mph.

I voted p.i.t.a. the time, effort, and having to go through the hassle of warranty work and hoping the dealer could r&r in a week, if something happened, is way more expensive than my aftermarket $250 airbag set up.

I am other pita vote: aftermarket are so much easier, more reliable, able to be adjusted better and even cheaper. I didnt order it on my truck, always just add.

I just read airbags, didn’t know we were discussing oem vs aftermarket... I plan on doing aftermarket.

I've got factory air on a 3500 Limited and don't mind it. I went from a 1500 with manual bags, and was constantly adjusting them to get the perfect ride & height. The 3500 seems to take care of it quite well on its own. The only downside is that we 3500 owners don't have is the luxury of the 2500 air-assist, where the bags can be aired down to help load trailers... would be a nice to have feature, but am kinda glad that 100% of my suspension doesn't rely on air. I theory, I could rupture a bag mid-trip, and it will not ruin the day.

Got factory air and it works well . . You can exhaust the airbags on your screen . Will have to see how they hold up in the long run . Had do it yourself on my last truck and they worked well .Had factory air on 6 semis I owned and never had aproblem .

Got the factory bag pkg on my 3500 yrs and I love the way this duelly rides compared to other hd trucks I've owned. In saying that, i wish they had the capability like our commercial trucks had with being able to really fill or dump air that would make more of a change than just any inch.
