I'm going to get some airbags and on board pump for my 2500 I have a couple of questions.
Any recommendations?
Single line or dual line?
With the pumps, how does the metal pump hold up mounted under the truck with mud dirt and water? How good is the plastic pump? I attached pics of both
I have the Airlift system on my '19 3500 and have it mounted on the frame underneath the truck. So far no corrosion that I can see. I also went with dual line.
There’s a lot of info on the forum if you use the search function for aftermarket air bags. Lots of guys on here have gone with the Air Lift bags including me. I posted in the What Did you Do to Your Ram Today where I installed Air Lift bags and on board compressor. I recommend dual lines, gives you ability to run one side more inflated to help balance weight distribution a little if needed. I went with the Air Lift Ultimate 5000 dual lines and the 74000 EZ Mount compressor. The compressor takes the guess work out of it by giving you the ability to precisely inflate to a specific PSI. I also tied in the manual fill Schreader valves in the rear license plate bolts to give me the ability to manually fill in the event the compressor should fail. So far no issues but it’s only been a few months. I’ve towed a 10k+ TT multiple times since installing without issue. They make a HIUGE difference in the feel of the truck when towing heavy. Good luck with your decision.
if your looking to get really crazy, take a look at the full spring replacement kelderman 0-1" lift rear bag set up. a bit involved on the install but lemme tell ya... I've never ridden in a softer rear riding 3/4 ton. that set up is the bees knees.
