Trying to tame the rough ride on long trips in my 2020 3500 and was looking at adding an air ride seat or base (to use the oem seats). Has anyone ever done this before?

What he said. My last air ride seat was in my freight liner condo.......plenty of headroom. These are trucks, not cadillacs, although I did have an international pro star that rode damn nice.

What gave me the idea was a 10yo post in another forum that claimed to do it by using a National air seat base (made for a pickup, they have them for the 3500 too) and fitting up a factory oem seat to it. Figured I’d ask hear before experimenting. My back is getting old, figured I’d save the wear and tear on it as much as I can lol.

Yes, please keep us posted. Interesting if you can do it.

This is what I’m looking at for an air seat base

I need to contact them and verify fit for the year.

oh man... I'm in for deets on this. would be a dream on my road trips.

I drove for Haliburton years ago, and headroom was my first thought on air ride.

Thanks for the reference! Exactly what I need to do. Just need to see if they have a bracket for the 2020 or something that will work.

Looks like that guy modified to make the bracket work. The seats in 2019+ are similar to 2010-2018 (I think they use same bases)...

So he modified the supplied brackets from the air ride base company or the Oem ones ? I thought it was the oem ones.

Got the quote back from the distributor, $385 + shipping for the base. Said to only fit 2003-2006 so I need to see the difference in the seat mounts in 2020.

So I got the drawings from the distributor, but they threw another wrinkle at me: airbags. Anyone have knowledge of how these are connected to the seat ? My seats in the Tradesman aren't powered so I'm assuming the one connector under the seat is for that.

This is a must do to keep the Mrs. happy.

I hear you there . I’m talking with a few vendors on some possible solutions. Biggest hurdle so far is completely replacing the seats will remove the side airbags since it’s in the seats so I’m restricting myself to just looking to remount the Oem ones.

Same here. Also curious if it will work with the air leveling, or will I need a separate air system…

Same! Please post if you go through this... Could be a game changer for my body:)

Thanks. I’ve seen this one, just not really connecting this to a solution just yet. I boiled down what I need to an air ride base mount that will attach to the OEM seat. Did you identify a part here that works?
