I have a 2024 PW with 12 inch screen. Have had a recurring, but very sporadic, issue. When I select A/C on the screen after start up, sometimes the A/C or screen will lock up and become unresponsive. Specifically temp goes to 76, front and rear window defrost goes on and screen becomes unresponsive. It always clears up after 5 minutes or so. I have done a full reset on the radio but it didn't solve the issue. Dealer was unable to replicate until it did it on me while driving, was close to dealer and stopped by quickly. Ran the OBD, don't think they got much but did say it appears to be a software issue. Ram is supposed to push a software update in the next few months which "may" clear the issue. Dealer implied that if it doesn't work may have to wrestle with RAM and replace the radio head unit. Does anyone else have this problem?

On my 24 PW with the 12" screen, I do not have the problem you describe. I only use the physical A/C button to the right of the 12" screen to switch A/C on and off. I don't think I ever use the screen controls for climate control except to change modes (defrost, upper or lower air, heated/cooled seats, etc). When I am shutting down the engine, I always turn off the climate control system by using the physical fan speed down button to the left of the screen. When I start the truck, I turn on the climate control using the physical fan speed up button and the last settings are remembered. Have you tried that?

If this method works for you, then great. However there is a problem that needs to be addressed. In the meantime, you could try what I outlined above.

Thanks I will try that. Yes the problem does need to be fixed. The radio has locked up on me once.
