Advice on air suspension

We have had extremely bad luck with Dodge but here we go again. Any advice would be appreciated.
We have a 2020 3500 4x4 dually with air ride suspension. Since we have had it we can hear the air compressor while driving. We call it the truck farting. It goes on and off when it should ( hooking up gooseneck trailer and removing) however it also goes off while driving, sitting at a light and sometimes when you start it. Recently we came out from lunch and the left side of truck was a good 4 inches lower than right. It fixed itself once we drive it. However two Wk’s later the service air suspension comes on than off. 2 days later it comes on permanently. Went on vacation for 10 days and when we get back it’s gone?
We leave for an 8 hr haul this weekend, dealership of course has no time or let’s face it, even knows what the hell the air ride is.
mid it fails will I still have suspension to get home or is this an all or nothing thing?
Thank you

Sounds like you have a leak on the left side somewhere. Should not be that hard for a competent dealer to find the problem. Spraying soapy water on the lines and airbag should be all it takes. Since it seems to be getting worse over time, I would suspect an airbag.

I learned the hard way, but NEVER haul without air ride button pushed to take air out when hauling. Mine popped when hitting a big dip with a heavy load. Now I was also in a 2500 and not a 3500 so no additional leaf springs, but still now with that in my 3500 I always activate to lower air pressure but mine never does what your describing. Sounds like a leak.

Are you using Alternate Trailer Height? Not sure what you are saying. C

Yes. While towing.

When disconnecting do you leave it in Alternate Trailer height? I guess that the truck height will stop as you are taking the fiver weight off when the springs support the back of the truck. The manual is pretty vague about this feature. Still to do the first tow with mine. First tow will be when we head to Texas for the winter in October. Thanks for your input. C

I wait until I’m disconnected and pull away before rising it back to normal ride.

You should use Bed Lowering Mode to lock it out or it will try to level in normal or Alt Trailer Height as you take the weight off.

Bed Lowering cancels if you roll over 8MPH. Alt Trailer Height can only be engaged under 8MPH (or maybe it was stationary.)

Alt Trailer Height cancels if you drive without a load.

I put the Bed Lowering button on the main screen lower options so it's quick to use.

FWIW, The HOFF was running an overloaded 2500 with air springs only (as he partially stated).
