Advice needed on suspension & wheel config for light-medium off-road with pop-up camper shell

Hi all, I've purchased a 2024 RAM 2500 6.7 Laramie, 2200lb payload with fifth wheel prep package but no air assist.

I am installing a Tune M1 camper and will be building out an interior. This is a light-weight camper setup, not a giant RV type camper. I plan to use this setup for light-medium off road (I'm not trying to rock crawl but I also don't want to have my spine blasted while traveling down rough roads). The truck is currently stock and I've come to learn the stock suspension setup probably aint gonna cut it for this purpose. The frontend oscillates and bottoms out pretty easily just going over speed bumps (it almost seems like they don't have the valving setup correctly for the diesel's weight), I can't imagine the cabin violence going down a rough road any faster than 5 mph lol!

I am looking at installing a Carli Pintop leveling kit and either 35's or 37's.

The fully-loaded weight (camper, interior build, passengers, water, dog, toys, fuel, etc) is an estimated 1200 - 1500lbs (leaving roughly 700-1000lbs leftover payload based on the door sticker). I have designed this setup such that the weight will be mostly distributed just behind the cab; very little weight will be placed behind the rear axle. Heavy items like batteries, water, etc, will be located in the bed behind the cab and the camper itself distributes some of its 500lb weight over the cab (the bed system extends over the cab).

I understand the coil suspension isn't ideal for this kind of load but I discovered that after purchasing the truck (didn't do enough research I guess). Regardless, we're not talking about a massive RV camper here and I've got to work with what I have. The truck rides so much better than a leaf sprung truck, that's for sure. The F250 I test drove was pretty uncomfortable on concrete highways lol.

I am trying to figure out a few things:
- Will I need airbags?
- Will the truck, after installing the leveling kit, squat in the rear after being loaded down? (keep in mind a lot of the load will be in front of the rear axle)
- 35's vs 37's for this purpose -- will the additional sidewall result in a noticeable comfort improvement off road?

Trying to figure this all out so I can get these tasks done before driving out to CO to have the camper installed. I don't mind waiting and seeing on the airbags, but only if it's certain the truck won't squat massively once the camper is installed.

You will definitely want airbags. The Ram 2500 stock suspension isn’t great with higher CG loads like slide-in campers.

Are there air bag kits that don't compromise the travel of the rear suspension? I see a kit from CJC but $2k is tough to swallow for a set of airbags.
