Additional TPMS Sensors and Re-Calibrating the Speedo

I bought some extra wheels and tires. I've looked and found multiple different part numbers for the TPMS sensors. Anyone know which part number is suitable for use with a 2020 3500? Also, from what I understand, if the Mhz are correct, they will auto sync (no special program needed)?

What do you guys recommend recalibrating the speedo with 37s? Hypertech?

It's not just the frequency. I couldn't get my Tireminder 433Mhz sensors to pair with the trailer TTPMS.

There's some sort of code range they need to be but there should be aftermarket options.

For recal speedo, TPMS pressures, etc. it's hard to beat AlphaOBD since you can also enable sales codes after adding hard parts too.

You'll need an ELM327 standard Bluetooth OBDII reader (BFX is $22, the OBDLink is 80-100 depending on model), a KoadTech security bypass cable, and the software. It's Android or Windows only.

I was referring to the TPMS on the truck. I have four TTPMS sensors for the trailer that came with the vehicle and they look different than the truck sensors. Also, the TTPMS have aluminum valve stems. Maybe they operate differently or the truck wouldn't be able to tell truck from trailer?

The AlphaOBD procedure for size adjustment looks a bit involved? The bypass cable installs behind the headlight switch?

Sorry, this my first venture with a Ram product

Right, I know you were talking about the truck. My point was that a generic 433Mhz TPMS sensor wouldn't work for me, I just happened to by trying with the Trailer TPMS.

AFAIK, each sensor is going to have a unique ID so as long as the TTPMS were paired up on a trailer, the truck couldn't possibly confuse them with the truck wheel sensors, particularly when I believe there must be some logic in the TTPMS for when you plug in a trailer umbilical and select the particular preset trailer.

The tire size adjustment is relatively simple though the direct option in the first menu in the BCM settings didn't work for me and I still had to go through the "car configuration." I put in the tire circumference and then ran through the ABS init procedures and cleared codes (because i started the truck before doing the ABS init.) I'll need to tweak it a little as I'm still off about 2MPH at 80 with the speedo showing 80 and GPS at 78-ish. That would keep me out of trouble to some degree but I want it to be accurate and not rack up more miles than actually driven.

Yes, the Security Gateway bypass cable for an HD plugs into the two CAN bus blocks that are located behind the headlight switch (easiest access IMHO). On the 1500, the Infotainment brand bypass plug is also an option as the SGW module/cable is under the steering column behind the knee bolster. The HD SGW is behind the cluster so it's a PITA and you have to remove it for dealer service. I think some have moved it for easier access but that's inviting more potential issues with a dealer if under warranty.
