Adding trailer merge assist function to existing BSM

Hi all,

I am looking to order a Laramie 3500. The dealer that I am working with said that BSM is available, but without the trailer merge function. She did not say why it was not available. I am assuming it's a component supply issue. Does anyone know whether it's possible to add this at a later date? I am assuming it's some control module that would need to be swapped out. Thanks.

BSM, cross path detection, and the trailer length feature are all part of the same sensors in the tail lights. So, if it has the BSM feature, it’s not possible to not have the trailer length feature. What she is seeing might not specifically mention trailer merge, but it will have it.

OK, thanks Jimmy07. I'll ask her if she is specifically seeing that trailer merge assist is listed as not available., or its like you said- its not being listed. I also thought it was strange since the sensor is there. I thought that maybe there was another module that did the calculations for the trailer, and that this module was not available.
