I am adding proximity entry and eventually the auxiliary switches. Alfaobd is needed to turn the additions on but I need the security bypass to do so. It seems they are sold out everywhere. My question is... can the install be completed and then taken to the dealer to add to VIN? I have a security bypass from my 2018 1500, but dont know if it will work on this 2024 2500. if anyone has any input on that i would obviously like to here it as well! The module came with a SpeedTurtle light programmer that i had on the 2018.

The 1500 bypass will possibly work but you'd have to remove the EVIC to plug it in.

Dealers have no ability to add DIY sales feature codes through WiTech.

By DIY I assume you’re referring to the specific harness pinned in rather than a full door harness? I added the trailer brakes to a tradesman back in 2016 and the dealer programmed the feature to the VIN. My understanding of that process is that it is so it looks like the truck came with it from the factory… at least that’s what the dealer told me back then.

Trailer Brake controller (TBM) was a dealer installable option/factory kit so that's something they could add.

There were a few offered, but not many.

XFQ trailer camera wiring, remote start kit, TBM.

The bulk of these DIY "hacks" are not something that a dealer is able to add to your VIN and subsequently program.

Got it. Thanks for the explanation.
