Hi All,

I recently encountered a noteworthy suggestion about stowing a full-sized 37" spare tire. I’ve seen a DIY project where someone managed it on a Tundra with a 35" tire, and I've also viewed photos from an individual who proposed this idea in another forum. It appears that some minor modifications are required, and I’m in the process of collecting as much information as possible about the potential tradeoffs of this solution. Your insights would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

What modifications are involved? There’s not enough room between the frame rails for a 37” tire 35”is the max.

Depends on the tire and it will likely have to be aired WAY down.

My not truly "35" barely fits fully aired up. Hits the exhaust shield.

I’m running a 35x12.50r18 toyo open country rt aired to about ~50 psi. The tire fits but I wouldn’t want to try anything bigger.

It won't work. When I had 315/70R17's on my rig (about 34.4") it barely fit up there. I couldn't imaging adding 2.5 more inches

That’s what she said.

If you can get it in there it’s going to take lube and a crowbar to get it back out.
Someone had to say it
