This might help someone down the road. My truck sits for a week or two at a time. My A/C has worked pretty well since new. The truck had sat for over a week when I went for a short drive to have lunch with a friend. My A/C wouldn't work. Happend a couple of times before but always worked the next time I started the truck. After lunch the A/C still wouldn't work. Scanned for codes with JScan and nothing showed up. I took if for another drive later that day and while I felt a tiny bit of cold air from the dash registers it was ineffective. I figured a trip to the dealer was in order. While backing into the driveway the A/C started working again but at low fan speed. Then it dawned on me that the Battery Saver System might have shut down HVAC due to the truck sitting for over a week. Plugged in my on-board charger overnight and now the A/C works full blast. I suspect if I had driven the truck for another few miles the A/C would have started functioning normally. BTW there was no message or any other indication on the dash. Hopefully this is all it was and I will charge the battery if I leave it sit for any lenght of time.

If you leave it sit a maintainer works best

Battery saver mode should indicate when it’s active, but I don’t recall if it dings or not. I think it shows up under stored messages as well, when it’s active.

I use a NOCO Genius 5A charger when the truck sits for a few days. I like the NOCO genius because they will actually stop charging when the battery hits 100% SOC and then recharge as required.

I use the NOCO Genius 10A with a NOCO connector under the front bumper. Attached to the top of the fuse box lid with velcro. I assumed it goes to "trickle mode" but maybe it does shut off. The manual says it goes into "Maintenance" mode, whatever that means. I started with the 2A but it took forever to charge the batteries to full if they were down some. Now use it on the Accord when storing if for the winter. The NOCO connector is a Y with the other lead going to the block heater through a thermostat that connects around 40F.

Maintenance mode is where it stops charging until the SOC drops.

I use a 10’ NOCO extension so I don’t have to keep the charger under the hood, I don’t think the vibration and heat are good for them… but nothing to back the up other than the published storage and usage temps.

This is why i use a trailer 7pin to keep it simple
