Hey, every time I try a search here, I can never find anything. I find it’s better to search on google and add forums, or Ramhds.com to my search. Am I missing something? I find the site search almost useless…is it just me? Thanks, love the site and the members knowledge base, especially Jimmy07!

That’s what I do. I got to Google and type HDrams.com then whatever I’m searching

Same.. I've zero luck searching for anything using the two provided search options on the forum...

Some sites search are better than others, but they will always fail in comparison to a search giant like google, that literally makes billions of dollars every month by doing search really well.

if you use google, use the term "site:hdrams.com" as it will more strictly match the results to just this site, or "site:hdrams.com/forum" to search just the forum from this site (thus ignoring any articles on the main page).

If you're using a chromium based browser (ie. chrome) there are shortcuts you can use on the url bar that allow you to type/tab and run a search.

I setup my chrome so that whenever I type "hd" and hit tab, it will open my predefined search. To enable something like this, go to your chrome settings / search engines, scroll to site search, add a new one. Search engine is whatever you want it to display as when you tab. Shortcut is whatever you want to type before hitting tab to trigger the search. I use "hd" for this site, use whatever you want. URL should be this "https://www.google.com/search?q=site:hdrams.com %s"

If the advanced search isn't returning the result you want, use Ugly's suggestion on site search.

(FWIW, I use a similar technique to NOT show image results from Pinterest.)

The advanced search will allow shorter search phrases, but google will allow you to string words together using "

It's amazing how many of the repeat questions are easily found.

That's the only real way to find a specific conversation on here imo. Search engine of your preference: hdrams.com "and whatever you're searching for"
