8-speed trans oil pan

Did you make the skid plate or buy a package? If a package, do you have a link to a web site?
Google dethlof manufacturing. There is always a crazy long wait for them tho
 
Enlighten me.
ZF designed and made it until ram could setup production line. Even if they don't make it. Who do you trust more the engineers who designed it. Or the engineers who got the pdf from ZF and took it to corporate bean counters?

I guarantee ZF is the better schedule to follow. All they care about are transmissions. Ram just cares on saving production costs and keeping customers running long enough to be through warranty.
Ram would be more inclined to call for extra service intervals no less as that would bring them more money…
 
No way I would never not change the trans oil, It's not that expensive and not that much work. If you're going to trade it off in 45k miles maybe not then.

Trans oil change in my car is a PITA.. like 5hr job but I still change it for piece of mind.

Its almost 1000$ Cad to change the oil in the 8speed lol… hell most of my gas vehicles i have never changed the trans fluid and they lasted 300k km and i sold them no trans issues the only truck i had trans issues with was my 05 cummins and that was after a fluid change i had it rebuilt but that was at 290k km and thats pretty good for a 48RE treating it the way i did lol

Yeah but 1000 is cheaper than taking the trans out haha.

I'll sample the oil too and send it to oil lab if its got a ton of miles on it, helps spot problems coming. (Engine/Trans)
 
Another question on this trans- how do you shift it into neutral if the battery is dead? Let’s say you needed to hoist it up on a tow truck. Just drag the back wheels cause there’s no way to shift the trans other than the electronic knob? Seems like someone missed something here.

Just pop off the panel over the parking brake handle, and pull the park release strap.

make sure you read how to do it or you can break the tab off and then you won't be able to reset it.
