I have a Ram 1500 limited with a Ram 2500 limited on order for the last two months and I am trying to work out whether an 8 inch drop on the weigh sure distribution hitch will align with the trailer ball receiver at 20.5 inches. I know from the center of the trucks receiver on the 2500 it is 23.5 inches - any support to understand what length of drop you have on your hitch to accommodate a ball height of 20.5 inches. All help and suggestion will be most welcome.

My trailer coupler height is 19 inches per the trailer manufacturer. I have a 6 inch drop hitch, set at the lowest, 6 inch setting and the trailer is about level when I have it at alt trailer height with the air suspension. That alt trailer height has my truck about level, too.
I have the weigh safe 6 inch drop hitch with the scale, I can adjust that one in height. 2.5inch shaft 2-5/16inch ball. HD trucks have a thicker shaft but the truck comes with an adapter to 2 inches if you use your old hitch adapter.
It was a gamble since I picked up my truck, hitch adapter and trailer all at the same time. It was super difficult to find anything on the internet but it worked out.
Honestly I would like to get my 19inch trailer coupler higher up since a 6 inch drop hitch makes a jerky ride. Less drop is better and easier on the components.

I sincerely appreciate the detailed response it is extremely helpful.

Could someone please let me know what is the measurement in inches, from the middle of the hitch receiver to the ground on the RAM 2500

I have a 2021 Ram 2500 4x4 Lonestar. It is the cummins if that matters. My receiver opening is at 23 3/8" off the ground.

I have an 8 inch drop weigh safe and found it covers my needs well. I have to use the lowest setting for my 16ft utility trailer to ride correctly.

22 Laramie Diesel, 4x4 all stock. 23 1/2 from ground to middle of the receiver.
