Does anyone have any idea why Ram would install their 7 pin connectors upside down on their 2022 ( maybe other years as well )
Just wiring an old boat trailer and it‘s a real PITA

It's the same based on the key location. IOW, go off the key, not the orientation.

As to why, it's likely due to the clip location of the backside harness to not interfere with the new 12-pin trailer camera options.

I dont understand what would make it a pain its the same concept as any other 7 pin trailer plug you have at most 5 wires for a typical boat trailer…

the only thing i see on a trailer plug thats a pain is why the teminals are labeled the wrong colors where the wires attach as i have never seen any trailers that follow the plugs color labels
