So somebody needs to share the secret sauce on how to get the plastic one that’s in the filter out. Don’t want to damage the filter or get pieces of plastic down in it. It is counter clockwise to loosen it?

Yeah it is but that sucker is in there good.

put it in a vise with rubber matting on each side and clamp down just enough. if your replacing it with a metal one your wont damage the filter removing the plastic one.
