6.4 engine replacement

have a 2014 2500 4x4 with 6.4 that i need to replace motor
found a low milage 2020 2500 6.4
is the 2020 a drop in replacement motor into the 2014
or is there any differences in the dressings,plugs for sensors ect,,,,,,

there have not been any engine changes that i am aware of but you may need a couple of your sensors from the original engine when swapping

The engine itself, and its sensors will be good to go. You’ll need to install your 2014 flex plate on it, and you’ll need to swap on your power steering pump (if the one you found includes it). Don’t forget to put your manifold vacuum port plug on the 2020 engine, since it won’t have one (the brake vacuum pump line is used on that port for 2019+).

great info to hear,,,,,the 2020 motor is from a wreck part out with 43k miles on it,,,,can get for less than a full rebuild price of 1 in truck now ,,,,i just bought this 2014 with a locked up motor for penny on dolar and is in excellent well kept condition except for motor,,,they overheated it then fixed and then locked up couple weeks later due to water going in oil,,,,,so bought it with intension to swap motor ,,,,,,,and have a good truck for low cost,,,,i have a 2004 hemi 4x4 now and just rolled passed 300k and been a great dependable truck,,,,so now moving to this genn,,,,,,,tks for info,,,,,john
