5th wheel gooseneck prep

Sorry guys, new here and new to the prep package. Bought a 22 2500 6.7 Laramie. 10k miles. It has the prep package. What type / brand of gooseneck ball should I look for?

Also looking for side step options.

Thank in advance.
 
The seller didnt give you the hitch kit? it usually comes with the truck. If you dont have it...Curt sells a 2-5/16 hitch kit.
 
I have the B&W kit and would recommend it.

I’ve had 2 trucks with the 5th wheel prep kit and a ball is not included from Ram.

No seller didn’t include it. Assuming one slide into sleeve and locks into place?

Thats weird...mine came with my truck in a big plastic bag with a partnumber on it. And in it was the black case with the hitch and the 2 eyelets for the chain hooks.
 
Like this package. Just lock in and should be good to go? Prefer this locking style over the other?

It’s not part of the 5th wheel prep kit, and wasn’t an option on my order form. Ram does have it as an accessory, but the B&W kit is nicer for less money.

Did you buy the truck new or used?

bought it new..well, I assumed a canceled truck order....maybe my salesman just threw it in or whoever originally ordered the truck ordered it as an accessory? i just remember getting a bag of stuff in my truck when I picked it up.
 
Curt ball kit on amazon is cheaper than the mopar one even though its the same kit and much cheaper than the B&W one

Gotcha, I wonder if the dealer gouged you for it or did you a favor.
 
My new 2024 Laramie didn't come with the kit either. Should it have?
 
My 2024 3500 with the prep group did NOT include a hitch ball. If the cheapskates at Ram don't even give you a f#%&$g owner's manual, they sure as hell ain't gonna throw in a hitch ball.
