Doing the usual 8K-ish service.
Will be sending off a sample of the oil to Blackstone to see what it says.
Picked up a Purolator PL12222 as AMSoil was out of the WIX oil filters.

Also changing out the air filter as it has been 30K or so.
Showed up a little damaged, but seemed otherwise serviceable.. I did sent them (AMSoil) an email and pics.

And yes... I did hit a bird on the way out to OR back in April.

Pleating material appears to be about the same.
Old has 48 pleats, New has 55 (FWIW)
Biggest difference is changing from the metal to plastic.
The orange silicone(?) feels much firmer than the black stuff.

I was told the Air filter with glue strips are not the right ones for the 6.7 Cummins

I just ordered a Wix 46930 from Amazon yesterday. It’s supposed to deliver tomorrow so I’ll report back if it looks like yours.

I just filled out a request to send my WIX back to Amazon, it looked different from WIN in Gondul's pics, see my thread:

You are also ordering a different filter than I did...
No idea is there is a construction difference between the filters for the 6.4 and the 6.7, but there seems to be a part # difference.

WIX 46930, the exact same filter used in 6.7

Finally got around to changing mine, and the filter I received is slightly different from the two that you’ve both posted recently. It’s also noticeably taller than the factory installed filter.

Also, man that factory air scoop is a bug vacuum.

The Wix 46930 (Napa 6930) has changed at least twice in the past two years. The original one was identical to the Mopar 53034051AB and Fleetguard AF27684. The next two revisions saw the addition of glue strips across the pleats, and various structural changes on the top.

Yeah I went into Napa probably a year ago and asked for an air filter. They had the 6930 on the shelf. I brought it home and reviewed information in the air filter threads and it seemed like the one I had was causing some problems, or at least wasn't like the 4051AB filter so I returned it.

I'm still running the factory filter at about 55k miles. I pull it out for inspection at oil change time and keep an eye on fuel mileage, so far so good. I'm starting to feel a little guilty about it but hey, a used filter catches more dirt than a new one, right? LOL

I plan to replace it soon.

AMSoil responded, apologized for the damaged filter and sent out a new one.
