I’ve done the complete 2020 interior swap into my 2017, and it’s a complete cascade of issues you are going to run into if you try this.
- To install the 2019+ dash, you need to install the 2019+ hvac box/ductwork, etc.
- To run with the new hvac box and components, you need to run the newer hvac module.
- Your existing BCM will receive implausible data from the new hvac module, and won’t control temperature correctly
- Installing the newer BCM requires the 2019+ RF Hub and PCM all married together. Since there no such thing as a 2019+ PCM with G56 tuning, that’s pretty much where you’ll be stuck
- The new cluster will basically function, but park assist animation won’t show up unless you swap in the new BCM and park assist module and sensors.
- If you use the new BCM, your existing ABS module will not communicate correctly, so you would need to use the newer abs module.
- The newer abs module is oriented differently for where the brake lines connect to it, and all the brake line fittings are different, so need to swap over all the newer brake lines.
- All of the wiring connectors on the newer dash instrument panel harness are different than the mating connectors of the body harness, and all have to be reworked/adapted and missing wiring added.
Basically, this is a huge project that required about 2 months of research and planning for me to pull off. I custom created my own new body and chassis harnesses, and created a binder with all new wiring schematics specifically for my truck. The difference with mine was, I have a 6.4 Hemi, so I was able to use the newer PCM with my engine (along with the newer transmission swap), where in your case, the required newer PCM doesn’t exist for your G56 trans.
It was yesterday but I got his done. Added Husky front mud flaps. I wanted the RAM rubber ones but they are on backorder so I wnt with these for now. Don't look bad though just a little shorter than I would like. Installed my 60 gal RDS aux fuel tank/tool box. Technically gives me 110 gal of...
