I'm in the market for a truck and am planning out my "build". One of the big factors for me is to have a matching spare tire/wheel that fits under the rear bed. I don't want a similar size or have to do some swap routine. I've done that before and didn't like the results while remote on a trip hauling a load.
I'd like to go up to a 325/65/18 tire. I've read some say the smaller 35" tires will fit, but it's close. Or that the exhaust is too close (my current OLD F250 has this issue with its 35" spare). What will fit? I know the 2500 coil rear with panhard bar gets in the way. Has anyone pushed a leaf sprung 3500 to its spare tire limit? Thanks very much for any insight y'all can provide. My next possible step will be to purchase a 325 tire and 18" rim and see if it'll fit under a truck at the dealer. Trying to solve this before going into a $80k+ purchase.
