2025 "unlock tailgate to open" error message

had the truck about a week now and I have a recurring message on the dash "Unlock tailgate to open" error code keep popping up when the truck is in park. I can clear it with the buttons on the steering wheel but it immediately pops back up. Anyone else having similar issue?

Im takin the truck in next week for this and the "Warning light illumination unavailable service required " warning as well. Maybe they are related?

Also the driver side window switch module is being replaced for the 3rd time in a week! Not sure whats going on with that, I guess just poor quality control.

I got "Warning Light Illumination Unavailable Service Required" on my 2025 as well. I pushed in all fuses and it hasn't happened since. Not sure if that was the fix or if it is simply sporadic.

Just started getting the unlock tailgate to open message today. I’ll be taking it this week for this, trailer 7 pin connection and going ask about the e vented seats. I barely feel any air coming out of the seats, much different than my wife’s Pacifica.

I just got that error for the first time the other day.

I get both of these messages in the EVIC sporadically as well.

Dealer told me nothing is wrong with tailgate. That my tonneau cover is to blame. . These guys can’t figure out the problem and will blame just about anything to avoid doing work.

Did they explain how the cover is the issue? What was their advice to remedy?

It’s total bs but they said the cover was putting downward pressure on the trail gate which pressure on alignment. The cover is barely touching the tailgate

Easy enough to confirm or confirm BS isn't it? Just roll the cover back or fold it back which ever the style that it is away from the tailgate.

it happens maybe once a month. im sure it's a computer glitch but trying to prove it to them is simply too much work to be worthwhile.

When it happened to me, I took a photo and showed the dealership. Of course it wasn’t happening when I brought the truck in. They found that the tailgate switch was faulty and replaced it.

Ram trucks "pull" air through the seat so you feeel anything coming up and out of the seat.

ONCE a month out of all the times that tailgate gets opened and its the cover that is interfering with the electronic locks functioning properly. Yeah that sucks.....time for a new service department.
