Its been a busy couple of weeks. Took delivery of a 2025 Limited on April 21st, jetlagged and sick as a dog from a 24hr trip home the day before. I immediately got started swapping parts around trying to meet the short deadline for my PPF appointment. Funny thing is I never get sick, I think the last time I had the man flu I was installing the Carli 3.25 pintop on the 21.

25 on the left and the 21 on the right wearing a brand new bed. Its mud season and I dream of a shop daily, but a dirty driveway has to do for now. Managed to get almost everything swapped over except the front bumper in 4 days. Not too bad considering I had vertigo from two middle ear infections and no energy.

Teaser from the shop:

Tint/PPF guy had the truck way longer than expected. 9 days. Got the truck back in time for 12" of heavy wet May snow

Finally getting close to wrapping up just in time for camping season. Waiting on some Molex connectors and Fakra wires and have some electrical to rework due to logic changes with the 2025 vs 2021, as well as figuring out the DRVM trailer camera without using the 100ft of cable it came with. I built the Aussie inspired flatbed canopy myself. It is far from perfect, but suits my needs, and the materials were about 10% of the cost of a Mitts Alloy or similar.

Talk about awesome, nice job!

That matte PPF looks awesome, nice work all around that thing looks like it'll get you everywhere everyone else can't go camping :)

Looks incredible. How do you get the spare tire down?

Two spring pins at the top and the 37" spare swings down, rolls right on and off the rack. I could have just mounted the 1" all thread through the back of the canopy, but I wanted something to make rotations a little easier and avoid having to lift a muddy 120lb tire chest high. I can also mount it to the stake pockets if I need to run the truck without the canopy.

After over a week of Rear bulb out detection being disabled using the VSIM I started getting warnings today and a flashing speedo after a quick power wash. VSIM pin 17 is still grounded, no damaged wires. The lack of documents supporting the new truck and its electrical changes is very frustrating. I cannot activate the Wig Wag feature using VSIM either.

I received a response from Ram body builder tech support. VSIM Wig Wag was changed from a ground signal to 12v+. They recycled the 2024 document, and the change is not reflected. The lack of support and documentation/inaccuracy is frustrating, but I should be wrapped up with electrical. Installed the BSM sensors in the flatbed and temporarily threw some black gaffers tape on the white sensors. Eyeballing it, the factory angle in the taillights is about 45 degrees, the flatbed is less but everything seems to be working well, so at least there is some wiggle room with the BSM sensor position. I had initially duct taped them to the lower bumper area for a day before cutting into the bed and other than "seeing" under semi-trailers there was no noticeable difference. The truck is finally happy other than the TPMS light being on.
