Any update on the SRW getting air suspension as an option on the 25 3500 Limited trim? Towing a 5th wheel and don't want sag and do not want to add aftermarket bags.

Dealers cannot order this option as of now. It is listed as a standalone option in the code guide for the SRW 3500, so hopefully that means it will eventually open. I imagine many people will be in the same position as you...

Anyone heard anything? This is crazy you can’t get air suspension on a srw 3500?

I ordered a 2500 SRW Feb 4th with the rear air suspension. I would think you should be able to get it on a 3500? However I did order through the company lease program and that bypasses the dealer. They don't give us an option to purchase a 3500 so I had to settle for a 2500 but glad they have the same powertrain now! I had an '16 3500 with the HO before this.

The air suspension is listed as an option on the 2500, but not the 3500.

Can you explain why? My fear is sagging with a heavy 5th wheel

I have a 2019 and a 2024, the 19 is a standard output with the 68rfe and no air suspension. the 2024 is loaded out and HO with air. so its not an apples to apples comparison but they are both mega cabs. The non air truck is more comfortable unloaded and I don't notice too much of a difference loaded. The railroads I cross are particularly jarring that I didn't really experience in the non air

You probably need to have the auto-level truck inspected to make sure it’s setup like it should be. There have been plenty of trucks that have the auto-level suspension running too much air in the bags and it creates a harsh ride.

i've done the old feel test, they both feel equal and soft/ firm based on lowered or not. I will have them look at it the next time i'm in the service dept. Which actually I hope is never because they are difficult to deal with at both dealerships around me.

They are entirely different systems, why would the availability of one guarantee the other?

It's not parts, the air assist is available to order on the 3500 DRW. It's a glitch in the matrix.

I agree on the ride experience with rear factory air and non air and I can not tell any diffrence.
I even took mine in to have it checked and after paying 150 $ to see if everything is working correctly they said it is with in specs.
This again is my experience . Others say it great, but compared to what.

In my experience I had a 2002 F-350 dually and added rear airbags with cab command. System worked good as I often pull heavy and it needed the bags to stay level. I ordered a '16 Ram 3500 dually with the factory air and no matter what I hooked on to, it always stayed level which I really liked. Granted, it would probably have been cheaper to not get the factory system and add the bags later with an aftermarket system but I like the factory option. Only thing I didn't like was the half stack of leaf springs that would not allow the suspension to drop to the hard stops like a semi as the leafs would hold it up. I just ordered a 2500 with factory bags and they don't have the leaf helpers on the 3/4 tons so I will be able to drop it all the way down. I feel that will be nice for hooking/ dropping trailers.

Compared to the non auto-level trucks.

The feedback our dealership got from their Ram rep regarding the 2025 3500 SRW air suspension was, 'There is no ETA on if/when this will happen'. It would be surprising if this is a feature that they drop, considering comfort is a big push from RAM across their HD lineup and this is a class-exclusive feature.

I did have a chance to drive a 2024 3500 SRW Mega HO without the air suspension. With tires at 55/50, I was happy with the ride quality. I expect it would be even slightly better after swapping out the Transforce tires. Felt the road more than in my 2500 w/ air, but also felt much more planted with less body roll.

Placed an order today for a 3500 SRW Mega Limited.
