2024 ram 2500 idash super gauge

Hey guys, I just bought a brand new 24 Cummins bighorn. It has 400 miles on it now. Owned it about a month but it was in the shop for 2 weeks already due to a bad output shaft seal. Anyways, I hooked up my idash super gauge to it. I’m super confused, it shows my DPF_RG% (66%) on one of my pids. But then my soot level % shows nothing. Just the “ - -“. Is it cause my truck is to new and hasn’t done its first regen? Or does the Soot level not show? I’m super confused because on my duramax it showed both
 
That PID shows one of two %ages, either time to 24 hour regen or soot to regen, whichever is closer.

How many hours on it?
 
What pids should I have then to monitor the levels? Just the DPF_rg%?
 
Regen % and the dash DPF gauge are what you can use.

Some scanners can show soot accumulation, but not all have the PID programmed.

Edge told me their CTS3 wasn’t capable or displaying it, which seems off.
 
The DPF pressure PID (if it has it) would be the closest to a soot gauge you have but the EVIC dpf screen is all you need it is accurate in comparison to my DPF screen and my DPF pressure PID on my ez link dashboard.
 
Hmmm, the one on the dash of the truck shows zero still and according to my idash I’m at 69% now after driving to work….
 
Yeah I’ll have to see what it does after the first regen, I just hit 430 miles on her today to work this morning so hopefully around 700miles it’ll go in. Only thing that scares me about these Cummins now is the lifters and the lame def system. Lol

Lifters are not as wide spread on an issue as people make it seem and the def system is better now. My 19 has no lifter noise
 
Yeah I took a video of mine idling cause I was nervous. Not to sure what the little chirp chirp noise is. Probably normal but here’s a video if you don’t mind listening!

Like i said on the other thread it sounds like a healthy cummins
 
Oh **** I didn’t see you were the same person! Haha. Right on. Well thanks for all the info! Glad to know there are legit people around still

Absolutely time based and it’s telling you that it’s 16:33 since the last regen.
 
So weird we can’t just track levels, I guess the ECM is different from my L5P I had then, you would see soot level and and everything with the idash
 
The iDash really needs a more simple, effective, user-friendly way to monitor regens. From what I understand, the Edge CTS3 has (or used to have?) a little green light that came on when the truck was in regen. A feature like this on the iDash would be awesome, especially for these modern trucks saddled with DPF and how critical it is to maintain said nonsense.
 
Here is a picture of one of the available screens on my CTS3 that I use for anyone that may be interested. It also has a small light that comes on when in regen mode along with the DPF Stat changing to “On”.
