The dampner snapped at rod end clean off with no bending and can’t tell how it did it’s there’s no damage like i hit a rock. Dealer fixed it but is saying this is the last time because I did it. Scared the sh-t out me i was noticing a slight wobble and thought I should check it out than i hit a bump on highway going 60 it went crazy can’t believe how important that dampner is. Anybody heard of this

The steering damper bolt shouldn’t normally break even with severe abuse, especially on a brand new truck. Were you doing anything to cause the failure?
If it broke under warranty and they are giving you sas, I’d find another dealer.

You're doing it wrong
If the Rod end snapped off there is an issue with the weld on it.
But a steering dampener is not that important all it is designed to do is keep the steering wheel from ripping out of your hand when hitting bumps if you are having drivability issues without it then there is something wrong. The dampener is known for hiding issues so you need to find the issues with your steering being that it is so new it is likely an alignment issue with caster.
