2024 Rebel. Trying to figure out mirror puddle/reverse lights.
1) lower button on light knob turns on cargo and mirror lights. All stay on in park, neutral and reverse. All go out in drive (might be California thing in drive). This button illuminates the cargo icon on dash and the mirror light button on the armrest. If I turn off the car and lock it the mirrors fold and the mirror lights stay on. I’ve left it 15-20min and lights stay on. When I unlock the door and get in the mirrors stay folded and do not open until I start the car.
2) same behavior if I just push the armrest button. But in this case only the armrest button illuminates (not dash cargo light) and the cargo leds don’t come one. But same behavior if I lock it and walk away. Lights stay on in mirror. Mirror stays folded when I unlock until I start.
I’d like them to come on in reverse and go out in drive. Turn off when folded/locked. Without having to hit buttons every time I go in reverse and remembering to turn them off when I park.
Any ideas?
