I have to park with the truck facing uphill.

Every day it has rained, the truck makes a horrible squealing upon start up.

I am assuming this Sport Hood is leaking water onto the belt somehow.

Has anyone else had this happen?

I may try sealing the “vent” since it doesn’t perform any function other than catching bugs.

I’d try popping the hood after a storm and see if the belt is wet? Also look around under the hood for hanging drips to find the source.

I’d need a camera under the hood. As soon as I open it there’s water everywhere.

Pretty sure that’s where it comes from. It’s not sealed

My buddies GMC has a functioning scoop with a drain that he is “chirping” about, since he heard of my problem…. Grrr

I've been waiting for more Ram owners to experience the same issue. My dealership in San Jose, CA doesn't see a lot of 2024 Ram 3500 and couldn't duplicate the problem. That's because they would start the truck up, drive it to the wash rack and try to duplicate the issue. What they don't understand is that once they start it, the belt is warm enough to not squeal. I've tried sealing the fake air intake and it still doesn't help. One time I covered the fake air intake during a heavy rain and when I started the truck, it didn't make the horrible squeaking sound, which leaves me to believe that's where the water is dripping onto the belt and pulley. If there is no long-term damage being done, I guess I'll put up with it. Please let me know if you've resolved the issue. I also park the truck on the driveway with a slight incline. Thanks Chris
