Just purchased a 2024 Ram 3500 HO SW in mid January. Didn’t tow anything the first 500 miles as recommended and hooked up to my 7k lb travel trailer around 560 miles to begin the 500 miles of towing under 50 miles per hour as recommended. As soon as I put it in tow/haul mode and got up to speed and began to slow down to come to a stop the transmission made a grinding noise when downshifting from 2nd to 1st gear. Drove about 100 miles and same noise every time I would come to a stop.
Took truck to local dealer following day and they said it didn’t have any codes and were ready to give it back to me, but requested a technician to ride with me so they could hear it. Technician confirmed the noise as well. Now has been with dealer for over 3 weeks waiting on response to Star request. Other than riding with me no troubleshooting has been done besides looking for codes. Was elevated from Master Tech to TA (not sure what TA is) last week and haven’t heard anything since. Not sure to wait this out or begin pursuing the 30 day lemon law next week.
