Just finished installing the hardware for the Passive Entry upgrade on my 2024 3500 Bighorn. When I went into AlfaOBD to select the body control module the only choice that would connect and give me the needed choices was "Body computer MY2022+ PowerNet. Just want to confirm that that's the right choice for my '24 MY. Don't want to screw anything up at this point.

As long as you make a backup and get a log of the current settings, I wouldn't sweat it.

Were you not able to connect to MY2023?

Yes I was able to connect to MY2023 but all it gave me was a snowplow choice. That's when I tried MY2022 and the rest of the choices were there but I got cold feet.. It did say "Connected to Body Control Module Continental MY 2024 when it connected. I also have a check engine light on that wasn't there before I started. Is that normal?

Can't say on the CEL. I think if you leave the key in MAR too long, it lights the CEL?

Did it set a code?

Honestly, I don't pay much attention to the dash when using AlfaOBD unless something stays lit or alerts after changes.

So my CEL was a P0073 which is Ambient Temp Sensor. After I read it and cycled the ignition it went away on it's own. I then backed up the configuration and uploaded the current settings log. I then went ahead and programed the Passive Entry settings. About half of them were already set as needed. Disconnected the batteries for 30 minutes and then checked it out. The setting was on the big screen so I activated it and held my breath. Happily everything works perfectly. That was the one biggest complaint I had about this truck and now I have my passive entry back. No more fumbling for the fob just to unlock it.

Do you happen to have the part numbers for what you bought? I'm coming out of an '18 Laramie into '24 Bighorn. The one thing I miss is touching the door handles to unlock the truck.

P.s. my '24 also needed to be connected to the MY22+ to see all the options, and I could only see the snowplow option when connecting BCM MY2024. Thought you would want to know you're not alone there. Not sure what that's all about.

Thanks!

I can look it up for you tomorrow but the main thread for this mod would be the best place to get the numbers. The part number will depend on what color handles you need.

Thanks. I'll scroll around to see if I can find the main thread for that mod.

Edit: found it, thanks for the point out, and you can stand down on previous request. That was all I needed sir.
