My truck has the new style tow mirrors with the signal lights on the back of the mirror. I’ve noticed they aren’t functioning as running lights when the headlights are on, but do flash when the signal light is on. Shouldn’t they be on as running lights, when the lights are on? They have all the puddle lights and are power folding and extending, when needed for towing. Shouldn’t they function as running lights, too?

My ‘23 Bighorn has heated, power fold/extend, puddle lights and turn signals in the mirror. They also are on when I turn on my headlights. Not sure what trim you have but if they have the features you say they do, they should work with the headlights on. I’m pretty sure that function was part of the mirror package. May be worth a trip to the dealership if you’re still in warranty.

They work as running lights on my 2023 Tradesman ... I assume by default . I don't recall any special settings ...

Not sure if you have a CA truck or not but I thought that I read where the California trucks had some mirror lights disabled? I could be wrong but this might be something to look into

I assume you are looking at the lights from the outside? The forward facing lights are not visible from inside the truck.
The running/parking lights are also used as turn/hazard signals - solid on for the former and flashing for the latter.
