I have a 3500 dually with the air suspension and it is not moving. I don't have any errors or idiot lights. The display says it has achieved alt height and low and back to normal height. I first tried to use it yesterday when hooking up my car hauler trailer. I've never had a truck with this suspension so I thought I must have been missing a step like applying the park brake. I've watched the Ram video and others and it seems pretty straight for so I'm thinking something is wrong but want to make sure before I take it to the dealer. Any help is appreciated.

Do you have weight on the truck? The only way the factory air works is with a load hooked up and then it'll drop about an inch or slightly more....the alt height is when it airs up the bags to self level...alt height will lower it back down.....so with no or not enough weight on it....it won't do anything....that's why I won't choose factory air again.... aftermarket systems are more versatile....
Thanks for the reply...No I did not have weight on it. I could have sworn I read one of the features was to lower the hitch while hooking up a trailer. Maybe I imagined it. LOL. I will try it again with the trailer hooked up.
I think that feature is only on the 2500. The 3500 can't do this because it still has leaf springs to hold it up even if you dump all the air.

The 3500's don't lower enough for that function to be useful or even noticeable.
As noted, you need weight in the bed for this feature to be useful.
As usual, half of you are talking about one thing and half about the other.
Be clear on the functions:

- Bed Lowering Mode (soft button in radio)- drops the rear temporarily for loading. Won't do much if anything on a 3500. With my hitch and toolbox my truck will drop about 3/4". 2500 with full air will drop 2-3". Cancels itself over 8MPH. Do this first before hitching regardless (see below).
- Alt Trailer Height (hard button) - requires a load and drops the rear 1" to level. This is for travel. Cannot be engaged while moving. Cancels itself if the load is removed and >8MPH.
- (You should use Bed Lowering Mode or another lock-out mode to keep the truck from auto leveling during hitching/unhitching)
