2023 2500 Laramie Off-Road package - better or worse ride?

New here,

Been test driving several Ram 2500's locally and they all drive fine all things considered, but these do NOT have the off road package.

I found a 2023 Laramie priced right with the options I want, 3 hours away from me. It has the off road package, which is fine, if it doesn't ride any worse.

I did some research and it seems some say it the Ram 2500s ride better with the off road package and some say it rides more harsh.

I obviously don't want to drive 3 hrs to buy this truck to learn it drives worse with the off road package vs what I have been driving locally that don't have that option.

So if anyone could offer any insight on this I would greatly appreciate it!

Bought mine with the off road package as well. Only thing that adds is the decals, barely better Bilstein shocks, and the hill descent feature which will rarely if ever be used. Changed my shocks immediately as I had a level kit installed with new Fox Shocks. Between that and the 35’s the truck rides like a cadi.

Welcome to HDRams.

Bob Seger fan I take it?

Which post do you want to keep? I expect you posted a second time as your first was awaiting approval and not publicly visible (it's an anti-spam thing).

Yes, big fan!

Ahh, that's what happened to the post.

If you could please remove the first post I just erased and marked for deletion.

Thank you!

IMO the off road pkg is worth the money if you plan on leaving the truck stock, even if that's just for a while initially. The OE shocks on the non ORP trucks are typical stock hot garbage while at-least the 4600s hold up well to daily normal use. Our property is only accessible via gravel county roads and the last non offroad package truck we had maybe went 15k miles before the front shocks blew out. Outside of the county roads or going out into the field that truck really didn't go off the pavement much, certainly not enough to blow out the shocks in that short of an interval. Comparitivly the ORP trucks we've had have held up just fine with the stock 4600s and in my opinion ride much better in stock form out on county gravel roads as well as on the highway.

I wouldn’t expect a noticeable difference. The bilsteins should be better than the crap black oem shocks
