Hey everyone,

I am new around here and I feel that I have stolen a lot of knowledge from you all without providing any. With that, I know some of us are struggling with the 3-horn chip "feature" where the horn will honk 3 times if you exit the vehicle with FOB in hand on 22' models (UConnect 5).

I am using this thread to keep track of troubleshooting attempts as I try to figure out how to disable this "feature" please feel free to add any attempts you have made, or provide any useful information.

Feature Description:
*Credit to @Jimmy07 for posting in the thread linked in the comment reply below*

Useful Information:
- The setting or controls of this feature are believed to be housed within the "RF HUB"

Work Arounds Discovered:
Remove fuse for horn
(*Warning/Disclaimer, this will disable your horn and other functions. Do this at your own risk and understand the repercussions of removing the horn from your vehicle before doing such.)
This video will explain how to remove the fuse, and provide another work around that will allow you to use your horn and bypass this feature. (you can fast forward to 2:15 to get to the part where he removed the fuse)

Leaving spare FOB in vehicle.
- I do not find this to be the "safest" way of handling the issue, but if you choose to utilize this method, remember to lock you vehicle
- Mentioned to cause issues with passive entry, vehicle may unlock after locked with the FOB that has exited the vehicle
- Mentioned to prevent you from being able to lock your vehicle with other FOB (This could be corrected via vehicle settings)

Attempted Corrections:
- Disabling "Horn Chirp" via AlphaOBD (On-Going) "Once I get my bypass cable in (S/O to @Jimmy07, he builds and ships these if needed) I will attempt this correction and provide an update"

- Setting Change: "Utilize Uconnect app to change the setting" (Not Attempted) Need more research

- Setting Change / Hardware Manipulation: RF Hub, defeating or manipulating the signal to bypass this feature (On-going) Working with a communications engineer to figure out logical and/or hardware solutions.

- Setting Change: "Sound horn with keyfob lock" (Unsuccessful)

Please feel free to link anything relevant to this issue, and provide insight if I am missing a thread relating to this.

One thread for reference (I will extract useful information and provide narrative)

I just leave the door open a bit and that keeps it from honking. It is a pain though.
